Celebrating Youth Month in style!

Given the fact that June is youth month, as a team, we were invited to do a performance for June 16 at Evangelist Baptist Apostolic church at Mogogelo village. The Church was celebrating their youth and allowing them to showcase their talents. Their Arch Bishop Mashele had asked us to perform a piece for them for June 16 and then asked two of the members of our team, TSCC, to be judges of the event.

Performance at Seaparankwe Clinic.

22 June 2023

We followed the performance at Evangelist Baptist Apostolic Church at Mogolelo by performing again at a local clinic. On the 22nd June, TSCC performed at Seaparankwe Clinic at our home village, Makapanstad. Our team leader, Tsholofelo Pitse initiated the performance to enhance the members performance skills and stage presence.

Prior to the performance, one of the members forgot their prop and had to rush back to collect it. After putting the team at a slight predicament, the prop was eventually recovered and the performance commenced. It turned out to be a successful performance, so much so that the team was asked to be taken pictures with by the patients and health practitioners.

Afterwards, we were approached by one of the patients who asked if we could perform at the family events and took the contact details of the centre. We hope in one of the coming newsletters we can profile the story of us being invited to perform for the family.

Closing Mosetlha Primary School second quarter with a performance.

performing for youth month at Mosetlha Primary School

Following the performance at Seaparankwe Clinic, we performed back-to-back at Mosetlha Primary school on the 23rd of June. Our leader had initiated the performance at the school for the same reasons as at Seaparankwe clinic, to work on the growth of the crew and enhance their performances through experience.

The schools were closing and it was a delightful experience for all of the crew. The performing crew started to show signs of growth because they started tapping into character. They got into their roles at our centre and had to walk to the school because it so happens to be nearer and it seemed to be more convenient.

All in all, it was a wonderful performance and the crew ended it by playing games with the kids and then taking pictures with them. This was so to them the feeling as to what they will experience at the centre and once the proposal is sent to the school, we hope that the kids will be eager to join.

Tsholofelo Ya Sechaba Interviewed by Moretele Community Radio.

18 June 2023

Our team leader, Tsholofelo Pitse and her assistant, Onthatile Majatladi who also happens to be the team’s music facilitator, were invited to Moretele Community Radio at Hammanskraal for an interview about Tsholofelo Ya Sechaba Community Centre. They were interviewed by Tebogo “Sweatz” and it was a fruitful interview.

One of the highlights in the interview, Onthatile mentioned how strict our team leader is and how much she strives for perfection. That’s true, the organisation wouldn’t be where it is today without our leader’s strict drive and passion.

An Interview with radio personality Tebogo Marungwane.

Our feature for June is an extraordinary man who is an absolute inspiration to many of us. As an organisation, we wanted to blow the horn for Tebogo Marungwane because we believe he deserves the recognition and acknowledgement. Mr Marungwane is currently a radio presenter and also wears many more hats.

Tebogo begun his journey in 2002 when he studied Business Management at Wits. In the interview with us he states that initially he wanted to be a journalist but fast-forward today and post Covid, he got a radio contract at Sauma HP to host listeners on Sundays at 12:00 to 15:00 from 2019 to 2020, and then moved on to Tshwane fm.

When asked why he chose radio, he first joked by saying that he has a face for radio but a voice for tv before going on to explain seriously that he felt that the radio needed someone like him to bring a different flavour to the industry. He went on to compare radio to theatre and said metaphorically, in radio, one must always have content because that’s what people relate to, you must be attentive and have an attentive ear so you could have something to share.

He also said that before he goes on air, he affirms himself because that way he manages to stay true to himself. One of his inspirations include the likes of the late Eddie Zondie and his personal mentor David Mashabela. Above all, Makapanstad is blessed to have such a good man.

Mr Marungwane has interesting opinions and carries values that we will be following up on one of the next coming Newsletters. Please lookout for that!

What Miss Teen 2021 had to say about Tsholofelo Ya Sechaba Community Centre.

18 June 2023

On the last issue, before this one, we covered a biography of Miss Teen 2021 titleholder Rezelda Nenzhelele, who is from One & Ten village in Moretele District at North West province. She shared with us her story to becoming the titleholder and what led her decide to take the journey that led her where she is currently.

She sent us a voice note where she explains her opinion about Tsholofelo Ya Sechaba Community Centre, and this is what she had to say;

“So, when Ausi Tsholo pitched the idea to me, it was like okay, it is one of those organisations, you know. But looking at her, I know the kind of strengths she carries as a woman. She is one woman who doesn’t easily accept defeat, right, hence TSCC has made so much growth in such a short period of time. It is there not only to touch lives, but also to enhance, and also, prune people or rather prune children to become the better version of whom they are. TSCC as an organisation that deals with people or rather children who are less privileged, and honestly it strives to meet their needs, if I am being honest. It is one organisation that doesn’t rest until they get a mission completed. You know [‘it’s those mission accomplished’] type [of] organisations. Its strengths has to be them delivering on time, them being there for the community, them being able to mentor children because Ausi Tsholo is a great mentor right, and I love the fact that she doesn’t only say since I’m a great mentor I want everyone to look up to me in this organisation. She makes sure she shares what she has [with people she works with] so that they can share what they learned from her with other people as well. So TSCC is family, TSCC is unity, TSCC is love, TSCC is understanding, yeah, it’s that".

Inclusive workshop at Rustenburg Recreational Centre.

28 June 2023

The team of TSCC alongside Onneile Sepeng attended a workshop at Recreational centre at Rustenburg to learn how to include children with special needs. Having Onneile Sepeng with us made the process easier because we learned through demonstration, and also, the facilitators can familiarise themselves with managing some of the things we were not aware of when it comes to facilitating children with special needs.

It was a great and insightful experience and at the end we realised that we need to be more inclusive in our activities to include people who are differently abled.
